I am feeling great and not old even though I turned the big 40 on October 20. My fabulous husband and children had planned the best weekend for me. I was able to sleep in late on my birthday. I awoke to find that the kids had made me beautiful cards – and I got terrific presents. Then we all went to get haircuts and go out for lunch. After a fun lunch in Times Square we went to see the Broadway show, Grease. It was a great show for all but had quite a few inappropriate parts for children. Good thing it went right over their heads and no questions were asked!
The baby enjoyed the music as well. HeShe (our baby’s pre-birth name) was kicking and moving around a lot, probably because I was so relaxed for two hours straight. That evening Rob had organized a small gathering of close friends to join us for dinner. It was a wonderful night with lots of laughs and good food and terrific wine.
Had I not been pregnant, I would have had more wine than just two sips. Had I not been pregnant I would have had a standard three-course meal; instead I had a five-course meal! One of those courses was a rather large plate of delicious pasta with white truffles. This is what I crave every day and I timed my pregnancy right, to coincide with the two-month window of the white-truffle season.
