WEEK 31
Off to the Beach
Rob booked us on a flight that left at 8 am. Since I barely sleep, I should have just pulled an all-nighter like in my college days. We were up and out of the house by 5:30.
We arrived in Puerto Rico midday and immediately headed to the pool only to be completely drenched by a downpour. The kids got to enjoy the waterslides for a bit and I got to be the photographer. After the pool we got the kids bathed and ready for dinner. Since there was no mat in or out of the tub, Bradley slipped on the tile floor and banged his head. I think he must have had a mild concussion. He slept through dinner and then slept with me. I just needed to be with him through the night and make sure he was ok. Marlee, on the other hand, almost went to sleep with a dead centipede. When we pulled back her covers, we saw it in the bed. Ugh! Within seconds housekeeping was in our room changing every sheet, cover and pillowcase. So that was enough stress and exhaustion for the first day.
The rest of the trip was better. We spent lots of time with the kids at the pool and beach and I even got to rest most afternoons either in bed sleeping or at the beach while Rob played with the kids. It was nice to be away from the cold New York weather. I do recommend getting away during the third trimester before week 32. I was still able to muster up the energy for dinners and swims but I can really feel my body slowing down.
