The kids and I went to Florida from Puerto Rico to visit my parents. That is when I really got to relax and put my feet up. Marlee and Bradley are amazing to fly with and are so helpful. I guess we have been doing it long enough and so many times that they know the drill. I just can’t imagine flying alone with three kids. Rob had to get back to NYC for work.
I have totally hit a wall. I am exhausted, huge and now starting to get those Braxton- Hicks contractions more frequently. My belly really tightens up at times when I do too much or when the baby kicks or moves. The kids love feeling the baby move and they try and guess weather it is an elbow, knee or foot.
My dad made breakfast for the kids so that I could sleep in. It was wonderful to sleep till nine! I even got to take naps and read a whole book while I was there. My mom and dad kept the kids busy despite some crummy weather. They were happy to swim, play tennis, go to the park and just be with their grandparents. Our family has placed bets on whether the baby will be a boy or girl, the weight and date of birth. Some family members were pretty cruel, giving me a high birth weight and a very late date of delivery. I really am hoping that I am going to deliver early. Marlee was 11 days early and Bradley was about 4. I am hoping to go 10 to 14 days earlier. I am just not used to moving so slowly, being out of breath and just exhausted.
I feel like the baby is so low and just ready to drop out at any moment. My pregnancy has been very enjoyable till now. I can barely make it through a day without a nap, and bending over and picking up after my kids is torture. Rob flew down for the weekend to Florida to see us all and fly home with us. I think he even enjoyed the rest, as my parents are so hands-on. This pregnancy is wearing us all down.
I am looking forward to getting the children back in their routines of school and activities and I can start my “nesting stage” of cleaning and organizing everything in our apartment.
